- Return values are converted properly
- Arguments are converted properly
- Null values are handled
- Constants are available
- Methods can be chained
- Errors in bindings are handled
- Performance is acceptable
Value: HIGH - Validates Lua/C++ method binding layer
7. GlobalElunaTests.cpp ⚠️ MIXED (9 REAL + 2 PLACEHOLDER)
Status: PARTIALLY COMPLETE
Real Tests: 9 tests with real assertions
Placeholder Tests: 2 tests with REQUIRE(true)
Coverage:
- World singleton existence
- World singleton consistency
- GetEluna method existence
- GetEluna return value consistency
- Eluna config singleton
- Eluna manager singleton
- GetEluna return value validity
- [PLACEHOLDER] Eluna initialization when enabled
- [PLACEHOLDER] Eluna disabled behavior
Assessment: Most tests verify infrastructure exists and is consistent. However, 2 tests are placeholders that don't verify actual behavior.
Value: MEDIUM - Infrastructure tests are useful but incomplete
Recommendation: Implement the 2 placeholder tests to verify:
- When Eluna is enabled, GetEluna() returns valid pointer
- When Eluna is disabled, GetEluna() returns nullptr
8. MapElunaTests.cpp ❌ PLACEHOLDER TESTS
Status: NOT IMPLEMENTED
Tests: 16 tests, ALL placeholders with REQUIRE(true)
Coverage:
- GetEluna method existence
- GetEluna return value consistency
- Configuration awareness
- Map key generation
- Map Eluna creation
- Instance map inheritance
- Map Eluna lifecycle
- Multiple maps
- Map Eluna distinction from global
- Null map handling
- Persistence
- Type safety
- Comparison with unit
- Spawned creatures
- Instance creatures
- Cleanup
Assessment: All 16 tests are placeholders. They describe what should be tested but don't actually test anything.
Value: NONE - These tests add no value
Recommendation: Either implement these tests with real assertions or remove them. Current placeholders are misleading.
9. CreatureElunaTests.cpp ❌ PLACEHOLDER TESTS
Status: NOT IMPLEMENTED
Tests: 17 tests, ALL placeholders with REQUIRE(true)
Coverage:
- GetEluna method
- Delegation to map
- Map context
- Multiple creatures same map
- Different maps
- Null map handling
- Persistence
- Type safety
- Distinction from global Eluna
- Distinction from map Eluna
- Error handling
- Configuration awareness
- Lifecycle
- Comparison with unit
- Spawned creatures
- Instance creatures
- Cleanup
Assessment: All 17 tests are placeholders. They describe what should be tested but don't actually test anything.
Value: NONE - These tests add no value
Recommendation: Either implement these tests with real assertions or remove them. Current placeholders are misleading.
10. ElunaTestSetup.cpp
Status: INFRASTRUCTURE Purpose: Provides global mock instances for testing Assessment: This is infrastructure code, not tests. It's necessary for the test suite to function.

Recommendations
Priority 1: Remove or Implement Placeholder Tests
The 35 placeholder tests (MapElunaTests + CreatureElunaTests) are misleading. They:
- Appear to test functionality but don't
- Inflate test count artificially
- Create false sense of coverage
- Should either be implemented or removed
Action:
- Option A: Implement these tests with real assertions
- Option B: Remove them and add to backlog as "Priority 2"
Priority 2: Complete GlobalElunaTests
The 2 placeholder tests in GlobalElunaTests should be implemented to verify:
- Eluna initialization when enabled
- Eluna disabled behavior
Priority 3: Consider Additional Tests
The current test suite covers:
- ✅ Core Lua functionality
- ✅ Type conversions
- ✅ Event system
- ✅ Integration patterns
- ✅ Edge cases
- ✅ Method bindings
- ❌ Map-specific Eluna functionality
- ❌ Creature-specific Eluna functionality
- ❌ Global Eluna initialization
Conclusion
Current State: 62 real, functional tests (64%) + 35 placeholder tests (36%)
Quality Assessment:
- The 62 real tests are well-designed and test actual functionality
- The 35 placeholder tests add no value and should be addressed
- Overall test quality is HIGH for implemented tests
- Test coverage is INCOMPLETE for server integration
Recommendation:
- Keep all 62 real tests - they provide excellent coverage
- Address the 35 placeholder tests (implement or remove)
- Consider implementing Priority 2 and 3 recommendations for complete coverage
